How it works

Accumold continues to invest in Micro 3D Printing to support prototyping and low- to medium-volume production. Using multiple platforms with resolutions ranging from 1 to 20 microns and a broad selection of materials, the technology enables the rapid creation of highly detailed, geometrically complex parts. This capability adds versatility and agility to new product development, allowing for faster, cost-effective prototypes and small-batch production runs.

Hardware

Accumold’s Micro 3D Printing platforms utilize advanced digital light processing and projection micro stereolithography technologies combined with sophisticated optical and motion control systems. These systems precisely manage critical optical parameters such as focus, tilt, and alignment while maintaining exceptional positional accuracy in the XY plane. Real-time adjustments help ensure consistent precision and high-quality surface finishes. Through multi-resolution printing strategies, areas requiring extremely fine detail can be produced at slower, high-precision settings while less detailed regions are printed significantly faster. This approach enables efficient production of both small micro-scale components and larger parts with intricate micro features while maintaining high resolution and speed.

How it Works

Another major breakthrough in Micro 3D Printing is in the area of materials. Through extensive research and development, new polymer formulations have been developed based on widely used industry plastics such as ABS and PP like materials.

These materials are engineered to support ultra high resolution part production by carefully controlling key properties such as polymerization behavior, viscosity, surface tension, and optical penetration depth. The result is the ability to produce exceptionally fine features, smooth surface finishes, and consistent part quality.
